The Lion King - Key Art

Story keys done for a franchise that needs no introduction: The Lion King! Probably my favorite Disney classic. This project primarily focused on character design, but I really wanted to make these pieces too. I was motivated by criticisms aimed at the 2019 remake wherein detractors said the color palette in the new version were too toned down. The hyperrealism of the remake awes me, but I kinda have to agree with the color choices made being too muted. I just wanted to bring a bit of that back because it's part of why African landscapes and environments are so gorgeous. Some 3D sculpts made by myself were used as reference for character anatomy so as to speed up the process.
